Skiing Holidays
The unique ski area of Portes du Soleil links two countries - France and Switzerland by interconnecting 12 resorts and providing 650 kms of slopes, 204 lifts and breathtaking scenery. Skiers who are happy with a smaller ski area can remain within the Morzine/Les Gets sector
which still offers 150 km of slopes or the Super Morzine/Avoriaz sector with its 140 kms of slopes. Both these areas have their own ski passes. For snowboarders there are 2 snow parks and a Super Pipe at Avoriaz.
Many snowboard contests are held here throughout the winter. Avoriaz is the highest resort in the Portes du Soleil. It has a huge variety of slopes that will encourage confidence in beginners and challenge the more experienced skiers.
There are also 4 marked itineraries of snow cross slopes at Avoriaz providing a safe alternative to off-piste skiing.
For the more adventurous off-piste guides and heli-skiing can be arranged. The area can be explored very easily by following one of a set of trails.
Each trail is symbolised by a mountain animal which can be linked to your skiing ability and the time you wish to spend on a circuit. For ski addicts the Pleney stadium offers nocturnal skiing once a week. Cross country skiers canenjoy 48 Kms of trails in Morzine and 48 kms in Avoriaz.
